Graduated Carnelian Necklace
A fiery gem material, carnelian is a translucent red-orange chalcedony. Two different images are shown to represent the range in the color saturation possibilities. The darker material tends to be more opaque, deep red with a hint of brown. The lighter material tends to vary more with orange and yellow being the dominant colors.
It is believed that carnelian is a stone of protection particularly from negative emotions, it calms fears and encourages acceptance and serenity.
The necklace is approximately 18" long with 2mm round beads at the clasp, graduating to a large 11mm round at the center.
