Graduated Sodalite Necklace
Sodalite is the blue component of lapis lazuli. Lapis is a unique stone in the jewelry world because it is the only material that is actually a blend of several different materials. The blue color of lapis is from sodalite. Sodalite is frequently found without the other materials that make up lapis, but that doesn't reduce its beauty. This material is the highest gem grade of sodalite so it is a deep violet-blue with streaks of white calcite. The effect has been described as a frozen moment when lightning strikes in the midnight sky.
The overall length is 18 inches, with small 3mm round beads at the clasp, graduating to a large 11mm round bead at the center.
