"D" Grade Pearl Necklace
Each pearl is about 7-9mm long, making them a large and bold statement. Because they are not uniform, they are perfect for a less formal environment, from a casual day with friends, to business casual at work; they add a little elegance without being overbearing and stiff. The necklace is hand knotted on fine white silk with either a gold or silver colored fishhook clasp. Why is hand knotting important? By knotting the stand between each pearl, every pearl is protected from rubbing on the next. Pearls are relatively soft and the constant rubbing will show in only a few months. Secondly, if the strand should ever break, the pearls are maintained on the silk, with a loss of at most two, instead of the explosion of pearls on a simply strung strand.
